Tending my spiritual garden

I don't mind swatting mosquitoes. . it's being swarmed and bitten that bothers me. Even just one buzzing by my ear is enough to  draw a snarl from me. I don't mind donating blood, it feels good, but not stolen. Nor by an errant nail in a garden post.  Bees will let me be. Welcome guests we are to each other, one planting, the other pollinating. And we don't feel busy, rather answering a call.
And then there's the inner garden. And it has it's share of guests and pests. Welcome thoughts and viral.  Vampires bent on draining my spirit of every drop of love's labours. So there are fences to tend to, gates to mend. Earthy soil to replenish. Rest. What tools do I need?  A shovel to spread the manure (do I need it? Seems I can't live without it) I'm pretty sure roses must be fed. My spiritual rose comes with thorns, fragrance, and is it blooming? Not without B.S.  odd! And yet I must answer the call.

Returning to life

Needing to write and keep track of this meandering river called my mind.

Jung zen daze

name dropping, and coughing, how unfortunate

the waking dream was set at a campsite, the dark horse was whinneying(?) scared, pulling at the tether. I went to calm it, then realized there was something else - a cougar. I pulled myself up onto the horse to escape, then changed my mind and stepped down to release the horse and fight the cougar on my own.

Waking, my nagging cough took all of my attention - at first - and my mind (the horse) refusing to be still. What happens if I let the cougar kill the horse? What is the cougar? These are the thoughts coming to me. The cougar is my heart, my body, perhaps my instinct for survival - but not fear, for the cougar is going for the kill. The mind must be destroyed - at least for the day. How terrible! How funny! How wonderfully zen! A day of rest, released from the constant companion, the mind. Free to simply be in my body, to not think. My cough is fading, I haven't been aware of it while writing. thank you dream.

Time to take life a little less seriously - or at least some of the people I meet ;)
So important to laugh, let go, release tension - and so easy to do when I perceive how seriously I am taking myself, or how seriously someone else sees him/herself.
How wonderful to see a bigger picture of the world, to escape the trappings of ego, to breathe a little easier, to be refreshed..!

avocados

they are not just for eating. Avocado trees drop them on the tin roof to wake me up at all hours. I've come to believe that either God/Nature wants my attention, or I am not meant to sleep, or I need to put some storm-proof padding on the roof. Prayer or stupor or somewhere in between?
